Who is our association?

The Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics is a specialized scientific association that was established by Ministerial Order No. (B/T/9336) on 30/9/2019 – Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Research and Development Department – Republic of Iraq.

The association was established as the first specialized association in molecular biology and genetics in Iraq, as it includes elites and specialized scientific competencies in this aspect from various ministries and other institutions (scientific, academic, medical, technical, laboratory and others).

The Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics aims to consolidate the concepts of this science and vital specialization in various fields and at the level of government institutions and the private sector in order to enhance scientific competencies in the country and prepare everything that serves this important scientific segment and support the category of students and researchers in general to develop their capabilities and scientific and technical skills in this specialization Through courses, workshops and various scientific activities that enhance their skills in creativity and scientific innovation.

The Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics has working partnerships with other institutions, including local ones such as (the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals, the University of Baghdad, Al-Nahrain University, Al-Mustansiriya University, the College of Science, the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnologies, Medical City Department, Al-Razi Center for the manufacture of diagnostic kits and a number of medical and laboratory companies and scientific offices in the private sector omg).

The Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics also has international partnerships:

1- International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC).

2- International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB).

The association also seeks to continuously enhance ways of scientific and research cooperation at the local, regional and international levels to enhance and consolidate the concept of leadership, innovation and scientific creativity in this  specialization, keeping pace with the acceleration of scientific development by various means.
