The Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics was established at the end of 2019 at the beginning of the year 2020 as the first Iraqi scientific association specialized in the field of molecular biology and genetics with a personal vision with the most important scientific elites in this field, according to the regulations of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Research and Development Department – in accordance with the Law of Scientific Societies in Iraq. The Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics aims to spread the culture of this science at various levels (scientific, academic, research, medical and others) through our partnerships with local, regional and international institutions (official and semi-official) in accordance with solid scientific frameworks and strategies that serve community in general and Iraqi community in particular and serve humanity. Through scientific production, creativity, innovation and modern technology. The Iraqi Society was established in a difficult period and a global challenge, which is Covid-19. Despite this, we closely followed the global situation towards this crisis and kept up with the latest developments at the scientific and research level by creating the first diagnostic kit for Covid-19 (since the beginning of the omg pandemic), which was patented, and our participation in the committees the COVID-19 research advisory set up by the Iraqi Ministry of Health. During this period, the Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics achieved important achievements for the first time in the history of Iraq by joining international federations: 1- International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC). 2- International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB). In addition to the Society’s other activities by giving specialized training courses to students and researchers, workshops and other scientific activities (in physically and online), the Iraqi Society for Molecular Biology and Genetics will continue its scientific partnerships inside and outside Iraq in achieving its scientific and practical goals and spreading the culture of molecular biology and genetics to the community in general, students and researchers In particular, we seek progress and scientific development, leadership and innovation in a manner befitting the name of the great Iraq (Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilizations and science).God grants success
